Welcome to Middlefork School, Grades K-3{Dr. Greene, Principal} Dr. Mary Frances Greene, Principal Email: greenem@sunsetridge29.net Phone: 847.881.9500 Ext. 505 It is my pleasure and privilege to serve as the principal of Middlefork School in Sunset Ridge District 29. When Middlefork School first opened its doors in 1959, Northfield was a growing community, and according to Mary Osborne, Middlefork's first principal, the superintendent wanted to give the little kids a place all their own. Nearly fifty years later, Middlefork's kindergarten through third grade students continue to thrive in a safe, nurturing, child-centered environment created by a highly skilled and dedicated staff. Our Middlefork mission statement reflects both our commitment to the students of the District 29 community and our belief that only through a team effort will we maximize the early educational experience of each child: We, the educators of Middlefork School, with the support of the parents, community, and Board of Education, believe that our purpose is to foster the individuality and potential of all students, and to enable them to become life-long learners. Our mission is to help them develop into cooperative and responsive citizens in a changing society within a global community, and to live enriched lives. As their children's first and most important teachers, we welcome parents as partners in our mission. Parent involvement in school and classroom programs is encouraged and appreciated. From reading with first graders, to gardening with second and third graders, or serving lunch in the cafeteria, the opportunities to share in the Middlefork school day are numerous. Middlefork School is truly a wonderful place to teach and to learn. We have high expectations for our students and our staff and take great pride in their achievements.
