Welcome to the PTO at School District 29

PTO meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:30 pm in the Northfield Park District Community Center, except in November, when the meeting will take place in the Sunset Ridge School Learning Center.  Please attend the PTO meetings!  They are a wonderful opportunity to get updates from our administration on the latest school information and to learn what the PTO is doing. I hope to see you there.
 
Help me extend a warm welcome to the new 2011-2012 PTO Board. The PTO Board is comprised of over 50 dedicated parents who work closely with faculty, staff and administration to constantly improve the school experience of our children in District 29. Here are a few of the assignments tackled by our Board every year:
  • Running the cafeteria program by:
    • Staffing volunteer cashiers and servers every day
    • Negotiating with the food service provider
    • Administering student accounts
  • Fundraising through a yearly Fall Fundraiser, Book Fair, Winter Benefit, and Spring Fair
  • Distributing the funds raised through Ways and Means
  • Publishing a student directory and the Kaleidoscope
  • Bringing unique programs to each grade level
  • Offering Great Books classes, TV Tune-Out, 6th Grade Social Dance
  • Organizing school-wide service projects
  • Compiling a monthly newsletter online
  • And many others!
